BALL 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We held our annual ball at the Abbey School on Saturday 7 February 2026<\/strong>. There were 86 dancers enjoying the music of a six piece Craigellachie Band ably MC’d by Gaynor Curtis. With the band and some helpers we were not far short of 100 for supper! Here is a link to the crib<\/a> so you can see what we danced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TEA DANCE AND CEILDH 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday 30 November 2025 we held a tea dance and ceilidh at the Calcot Centre in Reading. Some 50 plus people danced to the super music of Ian and Judith Muir. They also enjoyed a spread of sandwiches and cakes. There was a recitations of poems which gave the dancers a chance to get their breath back! Shortly before the end there was a super display of Irish dancing by two young dancers from the O’Gara School of Irish Dance fresh from practicing for the All English Championships. SPRING TEA DANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We held a tea dance on Sunday 27April 2025<\/strong> at the Swallowfield Parish Hall. Some 50 dancers enjoyed the music of David Hall. All contributed to a varied selection of food for the tea interval. Here is a link<\/a> to the crib. Some photos to follow shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BALL 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We held our ball on Saturday 1 February 2025<\/strong> attended by nearly 80 dancers. Here is a link<\/a> to the crib if you would like to see what we danced to the superb music by Craigellachie. Here is a link to some photos<\/a> taken by the band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BURNS SUPPER 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday 22 January 2025 we held a Burns Supper attended by nearly 40 people. The haggis was addressed and toasted before being served with mashed tatties and bashed neeps. A number of the dances we did had links to Burns and the areas he lived in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TEA DANCE AND CEILDH 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday 17 November 2024 we held a tea dance and ceilidh at the Calcot Centre in Reading. Some 68 people danced to the super music of the Strathallan Duo of Chris Oxtoby and Ann Stonehouse. They also enjoyed a spread of sandwiches and cakes. There were a couple of recitations of poems which gave the dancers a chance to get their breath back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BARBEQUE 2024<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We held our barbeque on Saturday 20 July 2024.<\/strong> About 30 people gathered. Once we had finished eating we managed to get a couple of dances in before the light rain brought an early finish to proceedings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPRING TEA DANCE 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We held our Spring Tea Dance on Sunday 14 April 2024<\/strong>. See here<\/a> for the crib if you would like to see what we danced to the superb music by Ian Robertson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We held a successful Tea Dance and Ceilidh on Sunday 26 November 2023 at The Calcot Centre in Reading. Nearly 70 people enjoyed dancing to the music of Strathallan, the recitation of some poems and a fiddle solo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
