CLASSES\/SOCIAL DANCING<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

St Andrews United Reformed Church hall, London Road, Reading, RG1 5BD<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(entrance via the car park on Craven Road).<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We run two classes from September to June \u2013 a graduated General\/Mixed Ability Class <\/strong>and an Advanced Class<\/strong>. The emphasis is on fun and teamwork, as well as improving our skills, learning new dances and enjoying familiar ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GENERAL (MIXED ABILITY) CLASS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guest Teacher: Deborah Draffin<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesdays<\/strong> 7.30 to 10.00 pm<\/strong> from 3 September 2025 to 29 April 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Except 24 December 2025 and 31 December 2025)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.30 to 8.45 Beginners, improvers, intermediates (advanced dancers very welcome) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.45 to 9.00 Refreshments break<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.00 to 10.00 Intermediate and advanced only<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We suggest complete beginners email us before attending your first class to let us know you are coming and for more information.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first half hour focuses on basic technique and instruction to improve the proficiency of steps, figures, etiquette and the understanding of dance terminology, with easier dances focused on beginners and improvers. The pace then quickens somewhat when beginners and improvers can learn and benefit from dancing with more experienced dancers. After the break, the pace and difficulty increase and the focus is more on social dancing at intermediate level. The last hour is not suitable for beginners<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesdays 8.00 to 10.00 pm<\/strong> in May and June<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole evening consists of social dancing for all abilities, led by guest teachers in May and by committee\/club members in June. These evenings are not suitable for complete beginners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADVANCED CLASS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first two Thursdays<\/strong> of every month 8.00 to 10.00 pm<\/strong> from 4 September 2025 to 11 June 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This class is for capable, experienced and energetic dancers who are able to perform all steps and most formations to a good standard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
